In this connection, the police arrested five accused and launched a manhunt for another. Addressing a press conference at Rayachoti on Thursday (April 9, 2026), Superintendent of Police (SP) Dheeraj Kunubilli said that the victim, Poojari Yellaiah of Patha Vaddepalli village in KV Palli mandal, was allegedly targeted over local factional tensions and previous disputes. The immediate trigger that reportedly led to the incident was a quarrel on April 6 regarding the installation of a transformer near his house.
