India’s first quantum computing testing beds, built and assembled locally, will be dedicated to the nation on April 14, 2026, coinciding with World Quantum Day, Secretary to the Chief Minister P.S. Pradyumna said on Thursday (April 9, 2026).

The two testing beds, meaning two quantum computers that will serve as a benchmark for testing various components, are coming up at SRM University-A.P. and Medha Towers in Amaravati. “Till date, we did not have a quantum testing computer in the country that can be used as a reference while testing different components, part of the quantum computing ecosystem,” Mr. Pradyumna said, adding that Andhra Pradesh is the first State to take this up with the encouragement of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
