Police arrest accused in Villivakkam murder case

The city police have arrested an absconding accused against whom a court warrant was pending in a 2014 murder case registered at the Villivakkam police station.

The police said the case relates to the murder of Nagaraj in Villivakkam. The accused, including Satheesh alias Yugalinkam, were initially arrested and remanded to judicial custody. However, Satheesh, who was later released on bail, failed to appear for trial before the 20th Additional Sessions Court at the Allikulam court complex and kept absconding. Based on this, the court issued a non-bailable warrant against him on October 27 last year.
