The police arrested two men for the murder of a 57-year-old hotel worker in Peravallur. They said that the victim was allegedly stabbed to death with a screwdriver following a quarrel after consuming alcohol. Police sources said the victim Ramesh, 57, worked as a server at a private hotel in Guindy. He was living alone after being estranged from his wife Prema, 25 years ago. The incident came to light on April 6 when his mother, Banumathi, visited his house after he failed to answer her calls and found him lying dead with stab injuries to the neck and abdomen.
