The fourth edition of the Swabhimani Sharana Mela will be held on January 13 and 14 near Kudalasangama Cross in Hoovanur, Hungund taluk of Bagalkot district. Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Wednesday, president of the festival committee Channabasavananda Swamiji said that the mela will be inaugurated by Bagalkot MP P.C. Gaddigoudar, in the presence of several religious heads. “Lingayat Dharma Foundation Day will be observed on January 14 with community prayers, mass Ishtalinga Puja and Vachana recitations. Over 10,000 Sharanas from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Telangana are expected. Arrangements for accommodation and prasadam have been made,” he said.
