Slightly above-normal temperatures and isolated afternoon summer showers have been forecast for Thursday (April 9), the day of Assembly elections in Kerala. Although the heat may cause slight discomfort during peak hours, overall weather conditions are likely to remain warm and pleasant. For instance, Palakkad and Punalur, considered two of the hottest places in Kerala during the month of April, recorded the highest temperatures of 38.4 and 37.5°C respectively, which were slightly higher than the long-period average temperature (1.5 and 1.7°C respectively).
