Irregularities in tax collection, record maintenance and administrative functioning were flagged after the Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted a surprise check at the office of the Municipal Commissioner, Jagitial Municipality, in Jagitial district, on Tuesday. The inspection by the ACB, Karimnagar Range, found gaps in revenue collection for the 2025 to 2026 financial year. Property tax dues of about ₹7.23 crore remained uncollected against a target of ₹14.76 crore, while only ₹7.52 crore had been realised. In the shopping complex property tax category, ₹91.88 lakh remained pending. Advertisement tax of ₹8.12 lakh had not been collected at all. Overall, out of ₹17.19 crore due, ₹8.95 crore was collected, leaving a balance of ₹8.23 crore.
