Narayana on Thursday formally launched the Land Pooling Scheme-2.0 at Pedamadduru village of Amaravati mandal in Palnadu district. This is the third village out of seven notified by the APCRDA for LPS 2.0. Mr. Narayana launched the LPS in the other two villages — Endrayi in Palnadu district and Vaddamanu in Guntur district — on Wednesday. Along with Pedakurapadu MLA Bhashyam Praveen, the Minister collected the consent letters from the farmers willing to offer their lands under the LPS. He also inaugurated the Land Pooling Competent Authority office in the village. Within an hour of the launch, farmers submitted consent letters through Form-1 for 313 acres of land. Officials said this accounted for nearly 30% of the total land being pooled at Pedamadduru. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Narayana said farmers were voluntarily coming forward for land pooling due to their trust in Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He pointed out that a day earlier, farmers at Endrayi had offered 403 acres. He recalled that during 2014–19, considerable time was spent on preparing layout plans, master plans and road designs for Amaravati. Criticising former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Minister alleged that despite supporting the capital construction in the Legislative Assembly, the YSRCP government later subjected farmers to harassment and stalled development. This forced the NDA government to spend eight months overcoming the resulting issues. He said the opposition leaders were unable to digest the renewed farmer participation in land pooling. Mr. Narayana asserted that Amaravati would be developed strictly in accordance with Green Tribunal permissions and reiterated that the government would fulfil every promise made to farmers and ensure the planned development of the capital city without deviation.
