The Karnataka Mining Environment Restoration Corporation (KEMRC) has earmarked ₹4,107 crore for the development of mining-affected areas in Vijayanagara district with work to implement integrated environmental restoration projects gaining momentum, its Managing Director Sanjay Bijjur has said.

Addressing a press conference at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Hosapete on Wednesday, he said that out of the total outlay, works worth ₹1,710 crore have already been approved under 99 proposals submitted by various departments since 2023.
