Central Zone DCP Dhara Kavitha stressed that drug abuse is not just an individual concern but a grave social issue that silently erodes the foundations of society.

The Sumathi Reddy Institute of Engineering for Women, Ananthasagar, organised a anti-drug awareness programme and roadshow to highlight the dangers of substance abuse among youth.

Addressing the gathering, the DCP warned, “Intoxicating substances are destroying the future, health, and family life of our youth.” Students staged an anti-drug roadshow near Public Gardens, Hanamkonda, drawing public attention to the menace. Principal Rajasri Reddy emphasised that educational institutions should go beyond academics to inculcate values, discipline, and social responsibility. “Teaching traditions, respect, self-control, and harmony can safeguard youth from going astray,” she said.

Subedari Circle Inspector Ranjith noted that the initiative sent a strong message that the younger generation stands united against drugs. The event witnessed active participation from department heads, AO Venugopalaswamy, faculty members, and students.
