A silent wave is present against the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in the State which will be reflected in the election results, Communist Marxist Party (CMP) has said. Speaking to The Hindu after the end of campaigning on Tuesday (April 7, 2026) in the Thiruvananthapuram Assembly constituency as the United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate, he expressed confidence that he will win. He will be contesting against LDF candidate Sudheer Karamana and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Karamana Jayan. “Pinarayi Vijayan and the LDF are depending on their propaganda mechanism to win this election. But the people will see through all the propaganda and realise the truth. The government has failed to address the basic issues. Even in my constituency, several areas are still facing drinking water scarcity,” he said. According to Mr. John, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] is suffering from severe internal bleeding in its strongholds such as North Malabar and Alappuzha. “Whatever happened with the CPI(M) in the past, including the issues that led to the formation of the CMP, were explosions. However, now the CPI(M) is imploding into itself. Multiple issues have cropped up in different places. Such a phenomenon has never before happened in its history. This will certainly affect the LDF’s electoral prospects,” he said.
