The papers of AIADMK candidate P.K. Vairamuthu was also accepted. Papers of 15 other contesting candidates were also accepted. The nomination papers of sitting DMK MLA and the Minister for Backward Classes Welfare Siva. V. Meyyanathan contesting from the Alangudi assembly constituency was accepted. The papers of 17 other candidates including Dhana Vimal (AIADMK) contesting from the same constituency were also accepted.
