Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat Lavish Ordia has instructed officers of departments concerned to tackle drinking water problem and solve it on top priority. Chairing a review meeting through video conference with taluk and gram panchayat level officers in the presence of district-level officers in Yadgir on Monday, Mr. Ordia reserved most of the time to discuss drinking water problem and guided them to solve it through various modes of supply. Mr. Ordia reminded them of directions given during earlier meetings and said that water should be supplied through available modes, including tankers and renting borewells. “Nodal officers appointed and helpline centres opened for the purpose should actively work and attend to any call related to drinking water crisis and solve it immediately after informing the higher officials. You should ensure that there is no allegation of delay in attending to and solving the problem in rural areas,” Mr. Ordia stressed. The target for creating mandays under the repealed Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for 2026-27 has been given by the commissionerate. Therefore, an instruction has been given to executive officers and Panchayat Development Officers to provide work to labour to create mandays. The Panchayat Development Officers should complete 100% of the e-KYC process for workers enabling them to get payment, he said. He also said that officers concerned will be held responsible if they fail to implement the ongoing works expeditiously and enter the details in MIS data. Mr. Ordia verified the progress of construction of anganwadi buildings, ongoing works taken up under MGNREGA and Swachh Bharat Mission and supply of drinking water and other issues. Deputy Secretary Vijay Kumar, Planning Director C.B. Devaramani, Chief Accounts Officer Venkatesh and others were present.
