First-level verification of EVMs completed in Krishnagiri

The first-level verification of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), concluded on January 5, 2026.

According to the district administration, the first-level verification of EVMs (Ballot Units (BU) -4058; Control Units (CU)- 3092) and VVPATs (3025) commenced on December 11, 2025.

Following the verification, model voting was carried out in the presence of recognised political parties, supervised by Collector C. Dinesh Kumar on January 6 and 7.

After the first-level verification, 10,369 EVMs (BU-4519; CU-3002, and VVPAT-2848) were moved to the strong room at the Collectorate. In view of the 2026 State Assembly elections, for the purposes of training and awareness, EVMs (BU-105; CU-105) and VVPAT-105 were shifted to the Revenue Divisional Officer’s campus.

The faulty EVMs that were eliminated will be moved to BEL, Bengaluru within a week, the Collector said.
