The NTR Commissionerate police launched ‘Drugs Pai Dandayatra 2.0’ (Drive Against Drugs 2.0) to prevent the smuggling and sale of drugs and ganja. NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha, Commissioner S.V. Rajashekar Babu, Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner Dhyanachandra H.M., District Medical and Health Officer Dr. Sudha Rani, Drug Control Administration Assistant Director Srirama Murthy, Deputy Commissioners of Police launched the 30-day programme at Vambay Colony on Monday. Earlier, the EAGLE and the police had organised a 34-day programme against drugs in NTR Commissionerate. During the ‘Drugs Pai Dandayatra 2.0 programme’, suspected persons will be examined by using 3,000 drug testing kits at 149 identified hot spots, and those tested positive would be given treatment in de-addiction centres, the Police Commissioner said.
