Sivaganga Constituency Karunas, the leader of Mukkulathor Pulippadai and the DMK candidate for the Sivaganga Assembly constituency, arrived at the office of the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) in a procession with alliance party members. He filed his nomination with Returning Officer Jebigrazia. His wife, Grace, filed her nomination as the dummy candidate. Additionally, Guru Muruganandham of the Anaithinthia Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam and Kaleeswaran from the Sivaganga Construction and Unorganised Workers Welfare Board Union also filed their nominations. Periakaruppan, the DMK candidate for Tiruppattur, paid floral tributes to the Anna statue before leading a rally to the Tahsildar office. He submitted his nomination papers to Returning Officer Sivabalan. His wife, Prema, filed as the substitute candidate. K.C. Thirumaran, leader of the South Indian Forward Bloc and the BJP candidate, offered prayers at the Thiruthalinathar Temple before filing his nomination with Returning Officer Sivabalan. He was accompanied by BJP Minority Wing National Secretary Vellore Ibrahim. Umadevi of the Anaithinthia Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam also filed her nomination there. Other candidates who filed nominations included Kalimuthu (Anaithinthia Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam) and Neutron Babu (Puthiya Tamilagam party). Pon. V. BJP candidate Pon. V. Balaganapathy filed his nomination with Returning Officer Rajasingam, accompanied by Sudhakar Reddy, the BJP Co-in-charge for Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
