Open Data Kerala, an online collective, has launched a portal for voters and researchers on the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections. The portal (https://opendatakerala.org/KLA2026/) carries interesting election-related data in an easily navigable format, according to the collective. According to it, the platform integrates data from multiple sources in an attempt to provide a comprehensive and accessible public dataset, along with references to past election information. It also seeks to provide general statistics on the 2026 Kerala Assembly polls, alongside analyses of party distribution and voter demographics. Users can navigate and analyse specific data segments using custom filters for category, political party, or district. “The portal represents a collaborative effort to democratise election data through transparency, and enabling research and informed public participation,” coordinator of the project Manoj Karingamadathil said. Lok Sabha elections too The portal provides basic information such as the number of voters in the 140 constituencies, gender and age-wise break-ups and seat-sharing by political parties. Interactive maps and analyses of past elections are among the interesting features of the portal, according to Mr. Karingamadathil. The analyses cover the 2011, 2016, and 2021 Assembly elections and the 2014, 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the State. For easy reference, bar charts and other visualisations have been included.
