The Waltair Railway Division has emerged as a key driver in East Coast Railway’s (ECoR) record-breaking financial performance, significantly contributing to the zone’s highest-ever scrap disposal revenue of ₹290.22 crore for the 2025–26 fiscal. Key contributors to the final tally included the disposal of over 40,342 metric tonnes of condemned rails and permanent way materials, along with more than five lakh PSC sleepers and significant quantities of ferrous scrap. The zone auctioned off condemned rolling stock, including electric and diesel locomotives, coaches, and wagons.
