Ramesh on Monday said that global conflicts should not be viewed through the lens of religious differences and emphasised the need for a balanced and humanitarian perspective. He was speaking at an interactive session on ‘Attacks on Iran and their impact on the world’ organised at Janachaitanya Vedika in Guntur. The programme was presided over by event organiser Vallamreddy Lakshmana Reddy. Mr. Ramesh observed that the ongoing tensions involving United States and Israel in relation to Iran have broader geopolitical and economic implications. He noted that such developments could influence global supply chains, particularly affecting oil, gas, fertilisers and helium, thereby increasing financial pressure on people worldwide. Referring to India’s position, he expressed concern over the absence of a formal response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the situation. He also highlighted that several countries and sections of the international community have called for restraint and dialogue. Meanwhile, former Minister Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad and other speakers shared their views on the evolving global scenario and stressed the importance of peaceful resolution of conflicts. Several academicians, public representatives and members of civil society participated in the programme and discussed the potential global consequences of the ongoing tensions.
