Hotel worker found murdered in Peravallur

The Peravallur police are investigating the murder of a 57-year-old resident of GKM Colony in Peravallur on Monday (April 6, 2026).

A senior official of the city police said the deceased, Ramesh, of GKM Colony in Peravallur, was employed at a restaurant in Guindy. He had married a woman named Prema, but the couple separated 25 years ago, and he had been living alone. On Sunday, when his mother Bhanumathi called him on his mobile, he did not answer. She came to check on him at home, but found him lying dead, with stab wounds on his neck and abdomen.

On being alerted, a police team from the Peravallur station arrived at the scene and sent Ramesh’s body to Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem. The police are analysing the CCTV footage collected from surrounding areas to identify the culprit.
