Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday (April 6, 2026) launched development works to the tune of over ₹900 crore in erstwhile united Adilabad district — comprising the current Adilabad, Nirmal Asifabad and Mancherial districts — including ambitious ₹205 crore development works of Basara temple town.

Mr. Reddy, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, visited Pipri village in Bazarhathnoor mandal of Boath constituency in Adilabad district this afternoon to commemorate the three years of historic ‘People’s March’ (padayatra) undertaken by the latter as the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader in 2023.

Major works for which foundation stones were laid include two Young India residential schools in Boath and Nirmal constituencies at a cost of ₹200 crore each. Under the vision of ‘Praja Palana’ (People’s Governance — Path of Progress) programme, the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister laid the foundation stones for several development works and inaugurated projects, fulfilling the promises made during the padayatra.

It may be mentioned here that during the padayatra, many people had approached Mr. Vikramarka expressing concerns about lack of housing and financial security. Today, those promises are being fulfilled by providing houses and financial support through the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme.

Both the leaders inaugurated the plaque to mark the occasion. Among the major works launched today include the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule BC Gurukul Boys School building constructed at a cost of ₹20 crores in Jainadh mandal, a Minority Gurukul Girls School building worth ₹20 crores in Adilabad municipal limits. A Long Swan Bridge from Sirikonda to Indravelli via Dasnapur and Pittabongaram built with ₹13.46 crores was also inaugurated.

Among the irrigation and infrastructure works for which foundation stones were laid, include the Pipri, Tejapur, and Buggaaram Lift Irrigation schemes in Boath constituency costing about ₹141.07 crore, Muttur Lift Irrigation Scheme and Chikmas Vagu Project Left Canal in Indravelli and Sirikonda mandals (₹97.38 crores) and Landasangi check dam in Adilabad Rural Mandal (₹6.435 crore).

The government also sanctioned Advanced Technology Centre at Pochera village at a cost of ₹42.15 crore, construction of ITDA Utnoor office complex building at Lakkaram village in ₹15 crore. It also issued orders to take up urban infrastructure works in Adilabad municipality at a cost of ₹30 crore.

The programme was attended by Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Adilabad MP G. Nagesh, MLAs – Anil Jadhav, Premsagar Rao, Payal Shanker, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and Advisor to Chief Minister Vem Narender Reddy, Advisor to Government P.
