The Hindi horror comedy reunites director Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar after 15 years (Khatta Meetha, 2010). The trailer begins with the introduction to a town named Manglapur, known for temple, black magic and ghosts. A voice over talks about the dangerous entity Vadhusur, which is trying to bring someone back to life. Akshay Kumar’s character lives in a huge mansion, where bizarre events unfold. The trailer further makes a mention of a thousand-year-old curse set to return. There is also a mysterious forest that makes the plot intriguing. Bhooth Bangla attemps to offer a laugh riot, with enough elements to surprise the fans of the horror genre. With the presence of Paresh Rawal, the late Asrani and Rajpal Yadav, the movie looks to bring back Priyadarshan’s signature style humour on screen. Tabu, Mithila Palkar and Wamiqa Gabbi also play prominent roles. The film is co-produced by Vimal Doshi, Faara Sheikh and Vedant Vikaas Baali. Divakar Mani is the cinematographer while Priyadarshan, Rohan Shankar, and Abilash Nair have written the screenplay for the movie. The story of Bhooth Bangla is penned by Aakash Kaushik. Pritam has composed the music. Bhooth Bangla will hit the screens on April 16, 2026.
