The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Kumbakonam Division, has announced that it will operate additional services connecting Chennai with 14 destinations in and around Delta districts as Pongal Specials from January 9 to 14.

According to an official release, these services will be operated to the following destinations – Kumbakonam, Thanjavur, Pattukottai, Tiruvarur, Vailankanni, Pudukottai, Mayiladuthurai, Karaikudi, Karur, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Tiruchi, Ariyalur, and Jayankondam – from Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus at Kilambakkam on the outskirts of Chennai.

Special services will be operated during the above mentioned period from Tiruchi to Coimbatore and Rameswaram, and from Coimbatore to Tiruchi.

Arrangements have been made for operation of special services for four days from January 16 to 19 to help passengers return to to Chennai and other places.

Hence, the Corporation has requested passengers to avail Pongal Special bus services by making advance reservation of seats through www.tnstc.in website or the mobile application. Reservation will help augment the services, if required, to avoid hassles of last minute rush.

In addition to the long distance special services, elaborate arrangements have been made for the operation of buses connecting the important towns within the TNSTC Kumbakonam Division domain during the above mentioned dates, the release added.
