Kerala will go to polls on April 9. Mr. Modi, who reached Thiruvananthapuram by 6.20 p.m. after an election rally in Thiruvalla, rode an open, flower-bedecked campaign vehicle from Killipalam to Karamana. As dusk fell, party workers cheered Mr. Modi on by showering flowers, shouting slogans and waving party flags as his vehicle proceeded at a slow pace between security barricades. BJP State president and the candidate in Nemom constituency Rajeev Chandrasekhar along with party’s candidates in Kazhakuttam, Vattiyurkavu and Thiruvananthapuram constituencies — V. Muraleedharan, R. Sreelekha and Karamana Jayan, respectively — joined Mr. Modi on the vehicle. Mr. Modi and the candidates waved small, hand-held lotus-shaped LED torches at the crowd. The roadshow ended at around 7.30 p.m. On Saturday morning, Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar invited the public to be part of the roadshow in a social media post. He stated that it was now Kerala’s turn to conquer new heights of development under Mr. Modi’s visionary leadership. A Facebook post by Minister for General Education and the LDF candidate in Nemom, V. Sivankutty, also grabbed attention ahead of Mr. Modi’s visit. The post titled ‘Welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modiji to developed Nemom’, carried a map of the PM’s roadshow route and highlighted Mr. Sivankutty’s contributions to the constituency’s development.
