Four college students from Karur district drowned on Friday evening while bathing in Thalaiyuthu falls near Oddanchatram. According to the police officials, 11 college students from Karur district visited Thalaiyuthu falls. Four students Adil, 19, Saddam Hussain, 18, Ayaz, 19, and Fayaz, 19, from Pallapatti in Karur district drowned while bathing in the falls. Forest Department, Fire and Rescue Services and Police officials launched a search operation. The operation which had to be suspended on Friday night resumed on Saturday morning. While the bodies of three students were retrieved, the search is on for the fourth.
