Kovilpatti constituency incumbent MLA Kadambur Raju of AIADMK filed nominations at the sub collector office in Kovilpatti. In his affidavit, he has declared movable assets worth ₹44,95,059 in his name and ₹1,74,12,990 in his wife Indiragandhi’s name. He also declared immovable assets worth ₹12,00,000 in his name and none in his wife’s. Further he has stated that a case related to obstructing government duty is pending against him. DMK candidates of Ottapidaram (SC) constituency P.M. Ramajeyam and Vilathikulam constituency G.V. Markandeyan have also filed their nominations. AIADMK candidate of Vilathikulam R. Sathya has also filed her nominations. A total of 36 individuals have filed nominations across six constituencies of Kanniyakumari district. So far 12 candidates in Kanniyakumari, 25 in Nagercoil, seven in Colachel, seven in Padmanabhapuram, 8 in Vilavancode and 8 in Killiyoor have filed their nomination in Kanniyakumari district. The DMK candidate of Nagercoil constituency S. Austin and CPI(M) candidate R. Chellaswamy for Padmanabhapuram constituency has filed their nominations.
