The Tiruppur district administration has instructed Revenue Department authorities to crack down on lorries operated with overloaded consignments from stone quarries. The instruction follows a complaint from a resident of Sarkar Kathankani village in Uthukuli taluk that lorries operated from a stone quarry in the village was operating lorries with heavy loads that caused damage to the village roads. District Collector Manish Naraware instructed the Uthukuli tahsildar to submit bi-monthly reports on action initiated against lorries that carry heavier than permitted loads of rough stone, sand, gravel and dust.
