The New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) marked the commencement of Merchant Navy Week with a Flag Pinning Ceremony, honouring the invaluable contributions of seafarers and the maritime fraternity to the nation’s trade and economy on Saturday, April 4, in Mangaluru.

As part of the celebrations, the first Merchant Navy flag/lapel was ceremonially pinned on the wearing apparel of Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada, symbolising respect and recognition for India’s maritime professionals.
