A man allegedly involved in a series of chain-snatching incidents at the Erode railway station was arrested and 51 grams of gold jewellery were recovered from him on Friday. Following repeated incidents at the station over the past few months, a special team comprising personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) was formed. The team examined footage from more than 100 CCTV cameras installed at the station and in the trains concerned. They also tracked the movement of suspects and conducted searches in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Maharashtra.
