A few days after putting away earmuffs and headbands, people in Telangana wrapped themselves tight to insulate from cold weather as the minimum temperatures continued to drop. The lowest of 5.9℃ was recorded in Tiryani of Kumaram Bheem Asifabad between Wednesday (January 7, 2026) and Thursday mornings, compared to 6.3℃ recorded in the same place the previous day. 

Altogether, 16 districts recorded less than 10℃. The weather condition might continue as India Meteorological Department in its bulletin on Wednesday has forecast the minimum temperatures likely to be below normal by 2℃ to 4℃ at isolated pockets over the State during the next 2 days.

The lowest of 5.9℃ was followed by 6.2℃ in Kohir of Sangareddy. The temperatures were low in urban districts too as 7.5℃ was recorded in Moinabad Of Rangareddy, 9.5℃ in Uppal of  Medchal Malkajgiri and 11.3℃ in Maredpally of Hyderabad.
