Former Speaker P. Dhanapal has expressed his displeasure over AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami. He told the media in Avinashi on Thursday that though he had given his willingness to contest in the Assembly elections this year, he was not given a seat. The AIADMK has allocated the Avinashi constituency to the BJP this year. Mr. Dhanapal said he was not consulted or given an alternative seat. Mr. Dhanapal, who was the Speaker from 2012 to 2021 and an MLA since 1997 said, he had disqualified the 18 MLAs who were loyal to TTV Dhinakaran.
