Husband booked for dowry harassment after woman ends life

A 26-year-old software professional from Bihar ended her life at her residence in Miyapur allegedly due to sustained harassment over dowry by her husband in the weeks following their marriage.

The deceased, identified as Ishika Yadav, had married Neeraj Bansal, a native of Madhya Pradesh, on February 20, 2026, after the two met on social media in 2020 and had a relationship. The couple had been living in an apartment in the Maktha Mahabubpet area in Miyapur and were both employed in the software sector. Preliminary investigation suggests that Bansal had recently been subjecting his wife to mental harassment, allegedly demanding additional dowry.
