Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2026, in both Houses of Parliament was a historic and defining moment for Andhra Pradesh. It reflected the collective will of the people, and the aspirations of the people found a resounding voice at the national level, Mr. Naidu said on ‘X’ on Thursday. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his unwavering support and steadfast commitment to the aspirations of Andhra Pradesh, and observed that Mr. Modi stood resolutely by Amaravati at every crucial juncture, from laying its foundation stone on October 22, 2015, to reinvigorating its progress and reaffirming its vision on May 2, 2025. The Chief Minister also thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Government of India for their pivotal role in steering the ‘Amaravati Bill’ forward. Besides, he thanked all the parties and Members of Parliament for supporting the Bill by rising above differences. The passage of the Bill brought long-awaited stability to Andhra Pradesh and it marked a new era of empowerment, confidence, and progress for every citizen, the Chief Minister added. Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan stated on social media that with the passage of the Bill in both the Houses of Parliament, justice had finally been delivered to the people of Andhra Pradesh, and Amaravati stood firmly established as the “sole and permanent capital” of the State. This victory belonged to every citizen who stood with unwavering faith in the NDA government, he observed. Mr. Pawan Kalyan said he was paying his tributes to ‘Amarajeevi’ Potti Sriramulu, whose sacrifice laid the foundation not only for the State’s identity but also for the formation of other linguistic States. “The soul of Amaravati lies in the sacrifice of its farmers. Over 33,000 acres of land were given not out of compulsion, but out of trust, trust in a vision, trust in a future. That trust has been honoured today,” he noted, thanking the Chief Minister for his vision and relentless pursuit of the development of Amaravati.
