TDP State president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao on Thursday conducted a surprise inspection at the Government High School in his constituency, Gangavaram, to assess the teaching standards and quality of meals being served to the students.

Mr. Srinivasa ate the mid-day meal to evaluate its quality. He interacted with students, and took their feedback on the food served and issues they faced. He advised them to promptly inform teachers and parents in case of any lapses in the quality of meals provided.

Addressing the school staff, Mr. Srinivasa said that any negligence concerning the health of students’ would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He mandated that a teacher be designated to inspect the meal after it is prepared daily to ensure its quality before serving it to students. The MLA stressed the need for sustained and vigilant monitoring of the mid-day meal scheme.

In a bid to strengthen parental involvement, Mr. Srinivasa called for the compulsory use of the LEAP app, and urged parents to register their feedback and complaints regarding quality of meals through the platform. He further instructed officials to institutionalise periodic feedback collection from parents via the IVRS system.

The MLA warned that any instance of negligence or dereliction of duty would invite stringent action against those responsible.

Mr. Srinivasa also reviewed the quality of teaching, students attendance records, infrastructure, and sanitation within the school premises. He urged teachers to ensure that every student receives quality education.
