Land transactions through Bhu Bharati portal in one mandal of every district in 45 days, says Minister

The State government has decided to introduce the integrated Bhu Bharti, land record management information systems, portal in one mandal of each district in the next 45 days.

The government has launched the portal in five mandals – Amangal (Rangareddy), Kosgi (Narayanpet), Vatpalli (Sangareddy), Kusumanchi (Khammam) and Aswaraopet (Bhadradri-Kothagudem) – on a pilot basis on Thursday.

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy formally launched the project in Amangal this afternoon.

Operations of the integrated portal would be scaled up to one mandal in each district after testing the efficacy of the portal in the next 45 days. The integrated portal was designed to bring Revenue, Registration and Land Survey wings under one umbrella. It forms part of the reforms ushered in by the State government in the Revenue department – easing its access to the common man and eliminating the scope for middlemen interfering in land transactions. The portal replaces Dharani introduced by the previous BRS government which drew flak from the users for its deficiencies.

The new portal, according to the Minister, would eliminate the need for the people to frequently visit the registration offices as they could log on to the portal through their smartphones. He criticised the previous government for its failure to address the issue of sada bainamas (transactions on plain paper) resulting in pendency of 9.52 lakh applications for regularisation of the transactions.

The Congress government focussed its attention on the spree of complaints pertaining to Dharani and took steps to ensure that land under cultivation registered through sada bainamas was registered in the name of the occupant, after due verification.

In addition, the government took a policy decision to regularise sada bainamas in villages that were subsequently merged into municipal areas. This apart, efforts were underway to allot Bhudhaar numbers, unique identification numbers, to all land parcels on the lines of Aadhaar to avoid scope for irregularities in land transactions.

Referring to the reforms, he said the 10,954 revenue villages across the State were categorised into clusters for ease of administration and gram palana officers were appointed to manage their affairs. Licensed surveyors were appointed for taking up survey of land records across the State. Unlike the previous instances, the government deployed 411 land survey rovers for accurate mapping and survey of lands and orders were placed for another 400 so that every land parcel was covered through the survey.

BRS leaders behaving like terrorists

Meanwhile, the Minister accused the main Opposition BRS leaders of spewing venom on every development programme launched by the government claiming that they “behaved like terrorists” in the recent Assembly session. “Though they lost in every elections since December 2023, realisation is yet to dawn on them,” he said.
