In view of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extensive traffic regulations will be in place on April 3 and 4 along the MC Road stretch between Thiruvalla and Changanassery.

According to district police chief R. Ananth, traffic restrictions will be enforced from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on both days. The stretch from Thiruvalla Municipal Public Stadium to NSS College, Changanassery, and surrounding areas will come under strict police control from noon onwards.

Vehicles from Alappuzha towards Kottayam will be diverted via Kidangara-Kunnumkari-Valadi-Mulakkamthuruthy to reach MC Road at Punnamoodu. Those heading to Thiruvalla will be rerouted via Muttar to the Thiruvalla-Ambalappuzha road. KSRTC buses to Changanassery will terminate services at designated points including Kailath pump and Matha weighbridge ground.

From the Changanassery side, vehicles will be diverted through central junctions and interior roads, while those heading towards Thiruvalla will be rerouted via Paippad and Kaviyoor. One-way traffic arrangements will be in force on select stretches.

Vehicles from Kottayam towards Thiruvalla will be diverted through bypass routes via SH Junction, Nalukodi and Paippad. Long-distance vehicles to Thiruvananthapuram and Pathanamthitta will be redirected via alternative routes through Manarcad, Karukachal, Mallappally and Kozhencherry.

From the Thiruvananthapuram side, vehicles heading towards Ernakulam and Kottayam will be diverted at Chengannur through interior routes including Pandanad, Parumala and Ambalappuzha, or via AC Road through Kidangara.

Additional restrictions will be in place in the Pathanamthitta-Thiruvalla sector, with diversions at key junctions such as Thottabhagam, Kaviyoor and Podiyadi.

Police said traffic diversion will begin from 12 noon, entry to Thiruvalla and Changanassery towns will be restricted from 1 pm, and complete traffic regulation will be enforced from 2 pm along the event route. The same arrangements will be in place during the rehearsal on April 3.
