Revanth Reddy, campaigning in Kerala as the Congress party’s star campaigner, made a scathing attack on both the BJP and ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), alleging that “voting for LDF is like voting for BJP”. Addressing several gatherings in Nemom and surrounding constituencies in Kerala on Wednesday, he alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan were engaged in a “secret pact” but publicly projecting opposing ideologies. During a roadshow in Poonthura in support of United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate K.S. Sabarinadhan, Mr. Reddy asserted that the Congress-led UDF had “drawn the Lakshman Rekha” that prevented the BJP and RSS from gaining ground in Kerala. He criticised the Vijayan government for “remaining silent” even as several national development works, including key highway projects, had stalled. Calling voters to “teach a lesson” to both the BJP and LDF, he accused the Centre of misusing agencies like the ED and CBI, while alleging that CPI (M) leaders remained untouched due to political deals. The Telangana CM also praised Kerala’s achievements in literacy, education, and social progress, and credited former Congress Chief Ministers with these accomplishments. Targeting both the Modi and Vijayan governments, he described the last decade as a period of “double failure”, pointing to rising unemployment and limited industrial growth. Drawing comparisons with Telangana’s development trajectory, he expressed confidence that Kerala too would progress under a Congress government. He said that he was confident of a strong UDF victory in the upcoming Assembly elections. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy also participated in the campaign.
