Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: Thrissur Collector turns singer for voter awareness

A voter awareness music video sung by Thrissur District Collector Shikha Surendran, as part of the SVEEP campaign, is gaining popularity ahead of the Assembly elections.

The video was released at a function held at the Collectorate Conference Hall by Assistant Collector and SVEEP Nodal Officer Swati Mohan Rathod and Additional District Magistrate R. Manoj .

The song, inviting people in Thrissur to exercise their franchise, was written by District Information Officer P.K. Velayudhan. The video has been conceptualised and produced by a team led by Kalamandalam Gopalakrishnan, creative director, and Vinu V. Devan, director, of the Cheruthuruthy Kathakali School, capturing the cultural essence and heritage of Thrissur.

As SVEEP awareness programmes intensify across the district, the Collector—who has been trained in music since childhood—has impressed audiences with her singing. The Collector also felicitated the team behind the project.
