Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy said that the government is actively working towards fulfilling the pre-poll promise of providing house sites to all eligible beneficiaries.

Participating in the bhumi puja for the distribution of house sites at Owk Metta in Banganapalle town on Wednesday, he said that the jungle clearance work has been completed and the ground will be levelled to develop the lands as house sites. He mentioned that they have identified lands belonging to SRBC, Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, Endowments department lands, and some private lands for the allotment of house sites. Proposals have been sent to the government for the transfer of those lands, which will be distributed to the beneficiaries soon, he said.

In Sangapatnam, the Minister distributed social security pensions to the beneficiaries at their doorstep and interacted with them. He gathered feedback from the people regarding the facilities in their locality, the problems they are facing, and the functioning of the government.

He inaugurated the internal CC roads laid at a cost of over ₹75 lakh in the village. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Janardhan Reddy said they have increased the pension amount as promised earlier. “We are giving pensions to 63 lakh beneficiaries to the tune of ₹2,725 crore every month, and for the convenience of the elderly, pensions are disbursed at their doorsteps,” he said.

Mr Janardhan Reddy said the NDA government is committed towards the development of villages and will accelerate the development of Amaravati, as well as the construction of Polavaram project. He criticised YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for intimidating industries that are coming forward to invest in the State.

During his tour of the constituency, Mr. Janardhan Reddy also inaugurated internal CC roads in SC and BC colonies in Cherlopalli village and participated in the consecration of a temple in the village.
