Madurai MP Su. Venkatesan on Wednesday criticised the Central government’s proposed move to increase by 50% the size of the Lok Sabha, and the numbers of seats allocated to States. Mr. Venkatesan on X said he agreed with the views expressed by Jairam Ramesh, Congress general secretary (communications), on the issue. Mr. Ramesh had said the Modi government was proposing to bulldoze a Bill to increase the size of the Lok Sabha by 50%. The numbers of seats allocated to the States were also proposed to be increased by 50%.
