Prompt action by city police personnel in two separate incidents helped prevent a tragedy and ensured the safety of women.

In the first incident, under the jurisdiction of Whitefield Police Station, a woman attempted to end her life at her residence in Immadihalli on March 25 around 4:18 p.m. According to police, she had called her male friend and threatened to end her life after he refused to marry her.

He immediately alerted Namma 112. Acting swiftly, the emergency response team informed Head Constable Bangarappa of the Cheetha-310 patrol unit. The police team reached the spot within 13 minutes and noticed the woman attempting to end her life inside the house.

The officers engaged her in calm and patient conversation. After sustained counselling, the woman opened the door, allowing the police to intervene and successfully rescue her.

In a separate incident on March 31 at around 2:49 a.m., within the limits of Vidyaranyapura Police Station near Sambhram College, a concerned citizen alerted Namma 112 about a young woman walking alone in an intoxicated state.

The alert was relayed to the Hoysala-169 patrol team, , who reached the location within three minutes. They found the woman intoxicated and, upon enquiry, learned that she had left home after a quarrel with her grandparents. The police counselled her, contacted her family, and safely escorted her back home, handing her over to her grandparents.
