The Kalaburagi district police have arrested 11 persons in connection with three separate theft cases in Shahabad town, and recovered stolen property valued at ₹10.85 lakh.

In one case, the arrested persons are Umer Ali, Furkhan Rahim Khan, Asif Babumiya, and Pasha Maheboob from Shahabad town; and Subhash Iranna Madivala from Bhankur village. In the second case, the arrested persons are Pralhad Babu Sindhe, Pralhad Kambanur, Pramod Kambanur, and Preetham Prakash of Martur village. Two minors have been arrested in the third case.

Superintendent of Police Adduru Srinivasulu stated that, in one of the cases, a gang broke open the lock of a godown belonging to Dandgunda Basaveshwar Trading Company at night on March 28. They took 40 bags of toor dal worth about ₹2.40 lakh. Based on a complaint lodged by Nagappa Martandappa Gudaba of Honagunta village, a case was registered, and a special team was formed to nab the culprits.

The team apprehended five suspects within 24 hours of the incident. During the operation, the police recovered the stolen bags containing toor dal, a mini goods vehicle used in the offence, and a motorcycle, with the total value of the seized property estimated at ₹10.85 lakh.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankargouda Patil. The accused were produced before a court, which remanded them in judicial custody.
