Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin called on the people to resist a “corrupt BJP” piggybacking on a “slave AIADMK” to gain foothold in the State. He was campaigning for the DMK’s candidate for Paapireddipatti, P. Palaniappan, in Dharmapuri on Tuesday (March 31, 2026).

Urging the people to turn up for the elections on April 23, Mr. Udhayanidhi made the call as an appeal from the grandson of DMK patriarch Karunanidhi and the son of DMK leader and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.

Slamming the AIADMK that is pitched against the DMK in a direct contest in three constituencies of Paapireddipatti, Palacode and Harur, Mr. Udhayanidhi dubbed AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami as “a perfect slave” of Mr. Modi.

He added this election will reinforce that Tamil Nadu will remain and will always be “out of control” of the BJP, and that task was in the hands of the people.
