Gudipala police on Tuesday (March 31, 2026) arrested three persons for allegedly transporting banned gutka and seized material worth ₹9 lakh, in Chittoor district. Police reported that during a vehicle check at Pasumanda Cross in Gudipala mandal on the night of March 30, a luggage van traveling from Chittoor towards Tamil Nadu attempted to flee. The vehicle was intercepted, and upon searching it, the police found 24 bags of gutka worth approximately ₹5 lakh. The van, valued at ₹4 lakh, was also confiscated. The accused have been identified as Kiran, Manjunath, and Suresh, residents of Bommasamudram village of Gudipala mandal. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
