Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka directed officials to conduct Gram Sabhas extensively across the State from April 2, as part of the “Praja Palana – Praja Pranalika (99-Day Action Plan)”.

Addressing a video conference with District Collectors held at Praja Bhavan on Tuesday, he stressed the need for uniform conduct of Gram Sabhas across districts. He said the meetings should commence with the Chief Minister’s message, followed by a detailed presentation of welfare schemes being implemented by the government.

Collectors were asked to read out, as far as possible, the list of beneficiaries under Rythu Bharosa, details of 200 units of free electricity, and beneficiaries identified under the Indiramma housing scheme.

The Deputy Chief Minister also directed officials to disseminate information on ongoing and upcoming initiatives, including the proposed universal life insurance scheme to be launched on June 2.

He further asked Collectors to highlight key interventions in the education sector such as the breakfast programme in government schools — including milk supply for three days and ragi porridge for another three — and the newly-introduced midday meal scheme for Intermediate students.

Officials were advised to seek support from the Cultural Affairs and Public Relations departments to ensure effective outreach.

Mr. Vikramarka said substantial funds were being released to Gram Panchayats and instructed that details of allocations to each village be made public during the Gram Sabhas. He underlined that, apart from welfare measures, the government was also focusing on infrastructure development and strengthening the service sector.

Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania and other officials attended the conference.
