Large numbers of devotees from across the State and neighbouring Karnataka participated in the annual Kundam festival at the Arulmigu Bannari Mariamman Temple on Tuesday (March 31, 2026), performing the traditional fire-walking ritual.

The festival, held during the Tamil month of Panguni, began last week with customary rites. This was followed by a procession in which the deities were taken on decorated chariots through villages around Sathyamangalam. The chariots returned to the temple on Monday (March 30, 2026) on the conclusion of the procession.
