An imposing new building is coming up on Platform No. 1 side of Duvvada railway station as part of its redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The building, located ahead of the NTPC railway line, will eliminate the need for passengers to enter the platform area for basic services.

Passengers using Platform No. 1 have long faced an unusual problem. Unlike most stations, they could not directly access the station building for ticketing, reservations or enquiries. This was due to a dedicated railway line laid for goods trains carrying raw materials to the NTPC Simhadri Power Plant, which runs in front of the station building. A high wall was constructed to prevent passengers from crossing the track. However, NTPC had provided a ramp-type foot overbridge to connect the road to the station building.
