The court sentenced the accused to one year of imprisonment and a fine of ₹5,000 each under Section 120(B) IPC, and three years of imprisonment under Section 420 IPC for cheating investors. | Photo Credit: Getty Images/iStockphoto Nearly 18 years after a cheating case was registered in Mylapore, a city court on Monday convicted four persons for duping several investors by promising high returns from a non-existent vegetable trade, and sentenced them to undergo four-year-imprisonment. The case was registered in 2008 at the Mylapore police station based on a complaint lodged by M. Kalpana, 29, a resident of Mylapore. Police booked four accused under Sections 120(B) (criminal conspiracy) read with 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.
