In a major crackdown on narcotics, multiple police teams arrested 11 persons, including two foreigners, in connection with illegal drug trafficking in Bengaluru.

The police seized 2 kg 7 grams of MDMA, 31 kg 396 grams of ganja, 220 grams of hydro ganja, 162 grams of heroin. Additionally, a two-wheeler used for transporting drugs was confiscated.

The total value of the seized contraband is estimated to be ₹2.57 crore while its potential market value is pegged at around ₹5.14 crore, Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said.

Investigations revealed that the accused procured drugs from foreign and inter-State suppliers and sold them in Bengaluru. The network allegedly targeted college students and the general public.

Based on credible intelligence, police registered cases under the NDPS Act, 1985 and conducted multiple raids, leading to the arrests. Personnel from Yelahanka, Adugodi, Bharathinagar, Jalahalli and Pulakeshinagar were involved in the operation.

The accused have been produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.

Police are trying to trace the kingpins who supplied the drugs to the peddlers, and others who are part of the drug distribution network.
