The Election Flying Squad posted for duty at Saliamangalam junction on the Tiruchi-Nagapattinam highway searched the vehicle in which Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin was proceeding to Tiruvarur to launch the party’s election campaign, on Tuesday (March 31, 2026).

The Chief Minister, who landed at Thanjavur Air Force Station in a private aircraft on Tuesday morning, boarded his vehicle to proceed to Tiruvarur by road.

His vehicle was intercepted by the team posted for election vehicle-checking duty at Saliamangalam junction on the Tiruchi-Nagapattinam highway at around 10.30 a.m.

The team boarded the vehicle and checked the baggage of the Chief Minister, as well as the dashboard.

Mr. Stalin’s convoy continued its journey toward Tiruvarur after the check, sources said.
